ThermiVa St. Petersburg

What is ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa is a revolutionary new non-surgical procedure that uses radio frequency to tighten the vagina and labial tissue. It also adds softer and tighter skin to the vagina and labia and adds more moisture. ThermiVa® is often used to treat stress incontinence, vaginal dryness and orgasmic dysfunction.

The Treatment

ThermiVa® treatments gently heat the labia and internal vagina with controlled thermal energy. The treatments are delivered using single use disposable devices that target the left and right labia majora and all four surfaces of the vaginal wall. Treatments typically take 30 minutes to complete.

The entire ThermiVa® treatment process requires three treatments over a period of three months. The process is described as pleasant and comfortable by most patients, and there is no recovery period after each treatment.  This procedures, performed in the privacy of our office by our female staff member, Jessica McCarry, PA-C, can offer relief for women who might be shy about discussing feminine health issues.

Who Benefits from ThermiVa®?

ThermiVa® is intended for women between the ages of 30 and 60 who are experiencing stress incontinence, vaginal dryness or loose labial tissue. If coughing and sneezing cause you to “tinkle”,  if you require lubrication to have sexual intercourse or are having more difficulty achieving orgasms than you did in the past or if you feel like your labia has a stretched or sagging appearance, you could be a good candidate for ThermiVa®.

The individual results of ThermiVa® will vary, but women who have undergone the treatment report having a more satisfying sex life for themselves and their partners. Many patients also report being able to wear certain underwear or other clothing comfortably. All of these benefits give patients more confidence and improved self-esteem. Often times, stress incontinence (with coughing or sneezing) is improved and can even be eliminated.

As with any medical procedure, ThermiVa® may not be appropriate for all women. If you would like to learn more about ThermiVa® and find out if you are a viable candidate, ask your doctor for recommendations and advice.
